Provision of safe drinking water for the “Fengal” flood affected areas.

Access to safe drinking water has been cut-off for some parts of coastal regions including Maligaikadu, Karaitivu and Nintavur for the past two days due to ‘Fengal’ flood.

National Water Supply and Drainage Board (NWSDB) reported that it will take few more days to restore the water connection that was damaged due to flood disaster.

Foundation for Social Development (FSD) has arranged 10 water tanks in ten locations in the Karaitivu DS division to provide access to safe drinking water for the affected families through Divisional Secretariat of Karaitivu.

Through this assistance we are able to serve around 1500 families in this emergency situation.
